Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta  is an annual nine-day festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico that is recognized as the world’s premier hot-air ballooning event. It is the largest gathering of balloons and balloonists in the world.​

​

As part of an integrated media relations effort, my team facilitated the year-round effort supporting and implementing traditional, digital and social media strategies. I crafted year-round written and visual content, shaping the event’s voice and leading social media engagement. I worked closely with local, national, and international media, coordinating coverage and handling on-site media relations.
 

The year-long proactive media outreach and digital management resulted in a reach of 19 billion print and online views; including158.97 million broadcast views, and over 20.2 million unique impressions across social media platforms for the 2024 event.

Pine Gate Renewables

Pine Gate Renewables planned a large-scale solar development and sought to understand regional sentiment before filing with the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM).

 

My team and I were engaged to facilitate introductions with key stakeholders, including landowners, elected officials, and community leaders, ensuring a foundation of positive relationships. We provided media monitoring and analysis on regional demographics, industry perception, past development projects, and labor union considerations. Our work helped Pine Gate gauge public sentiment and align their strategy for a well-received project launch.

UnitedHealthcare is strengthening its commitment to New Mexico communities through targeted investments in digital connectivity, scholarships, mental health, maternal care, and more.

 

To enhance UnitedHealthcare’s reputation in the community, I developed a strategic earned media campaign focused on securing individualized stories that highlighted the company’s positive impact. Check out some of the coverage, here

Rio Sol Energy Transmission Project

RioSol is a 550-mile high voltage transmission line that will provide renewable energy for communities throughout New Mexico and Arizona. Delivering on the promise of clean energy, RioSol will transmit up to 1600 MW of renewable energy to homes, small businesses, and communities in New Mexico and Arizona. RioSol’s construction commences in 2026 and is planned to be in-service by 2028.

 

Beyond its direct impact on local communities, RioSol’s success will shape the broader national conversation about renewable energy adoption. Public perception and community acceptance are essential not only for smooth project implementation but also for reinforcing the viability of large-scale clean energy initiatives nationwide.

Comcast Xfinity

Comcast serves hundreds of thousands of customers in New Mexico. In the early summer of 2024, Comcast announced a $150M broadband infrastructure investment in Rio Rancho, NM, that will connect tens of thousands of homes and businesses. 

​

To support the rollout, I coordinated a comprehensive press coverage campaign, working closely with Comcast’s New Mexico team, corporate partners, and nonprofit beneficiaries. I helped to organize FAM tours for media personnel to visit construction sites and Lift Zones, managed paid native content in traditional media, and secured coverage in top outlets.

Observe New Mexico Elections

In anticipation of the 2024 General Election, The Carter Center initiated Observe New Mexico Elections, an organization with the mission to increase transparency and trust in New Mexico’s elections by training and deploying nonpartisan election observers throughout the state.

​

I led media relations efforts by generating press coverage, managing the organization’s website, and coordinating a launch press conference, including speechwriting, event planning, and media outreach. These initiatives resulted in extensive news coverage before, during, and after the election, contributing to increased public confidence in the electoral process due to the observers' presence.
